NJ State Inspection

Morgan's Tire Service is a licensed NJ state inspection facility in Burlington. We perform NJ state inspections, consisting of a safety inspection and an emissions inspection, for New Jersey motorists. We also have Goldstar technicians on staff to perform exhaust repairs.

What to Bring

When you're ready for a NJ state inspection, make sure to bring the following items with you:

• Driver License
• Vehicle Registration
• Proof of Insurance

Please note, we cannot accept photocopies, faxes, email receipts, or online registration receipts.

NJ State Inspection Process

Once we've seen proper documentation, we'll start the inspection process. Keep in mind that your vehicle can be inspected up to 2 months before its due date. If you can't remember when you're due, check your current windshield sticker for the inspection date.

During a NJ state inspection, our technicians will:

• Determine your vehicle's engine type and test it
• Perform an emissions test based on the year, make, and model of your vehicle
• Check your gas cap for stability and ability to prevent fumes from escaping

If your vehicle passes, we will place a new sticker on your windshield.

What if My Vehicle Doesn’t Pass Inspection?

If your vehicle fails inspection, you have up to one month from the last day of the month on your inspection sticker to make repairs and return for re-inspection. It is imperative that you get repairs as soon as possible, as New Jersey law requires vehicles to be properly maintained at all times, meaning a failed inspection sticker won't prevent a citation from law enforcement.

One of our trained advisers will answer any questions you have, explain the problem and how to correct it, and re-inspect your vehicle within your time limit. If you failed due to emissions, our Goldstar technicians will be able to help.

Goldstar Technicians

Under the Goldstar training program, licensed technicians can continue their education to increase their ability to accurately inspect and repair emission systems. We're proud to say our technicians have voluntarily completed Goldstar training and now exceed minimum training requirements for diagnosing and repairing emission systems.

If your vehicle fails the NJ state inspection due to emission problems, our highly qualified, Goldstar technicians can review your vehicle on site and perform necessary repairs to help you pass the re-inspection.
